Red Cross Shelter Relocated to Bay County Fairgrounds

The emergency shelter at Deane Bozeman School off State 77 is being relocated to the Bay County Fairgrounds, at 2230 E. 15th St., Panama City.

If the shelter at the fairgrounds remains unutilized as of 7 p.m. this evening, it will close but remain on standby for emergencies. Anyone who is in need of sheltering after hours may call the Red Cross at 763-6587 or the Bay County Emergency Operations Center at 784-4000.


In response to flooding from heavy rains, Central Panhandle Chapter American Red Cross and Bay County Health Department will open a shelter at Dean Bozeman Learning Center.  The shelter will open to general population and special needs patients at 10:30am today. 

Families coming to the shelter should remember to bring the following items:

1)     Identification

2)     Important medications

3)     Personal hygiene and comfort items

4)     Sleeping bags, blankets, pillows for sleeping

5)     Foods for special dietary restrictions

6)     Small games, books, etc. for children
