They say that if you give a man a fish he eats for a day, but if you teach a man to fish he can eat for life. That was the lesson at the Panama City fishing Rodeo this morning, as hundreds of kids came out for the 15th annual Fishing Rodeo.
Panama City Leisure Services wanted to help teach a new generation of children the love for fishing. Stocking the pond at Life Management with more than 200 catfish.
Trisha Pierce with Life Management is excited to see all the kids getting hooked on fishing.
“Sometime this is the only way that kids will get a chance to fish and to learn how to do that so we are providing them with the chance to learn something that can end up being something they love the rest of their life,” says Pierce.
Along with fishing there were also games, food, and other activities.
