Campbellton Man Held on Burglary with Battery Charges
On 5-4-14 at approximately 3:49 p.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from Patrick Boyd Sherer of Overpass Rd. in Campbellton. Mr. Sherer stated that there were individuals on his property committing vandalism to his residence.
During the course of the investigation officers learned that Sherer went to the home of an elderly female neighbor demanding to use her phone even though he had an operable cell phone in his hand. When she refused, Sherer forced his way into the home, knocking her to the side. He then took her phone as she repeatedly told him to leave. The female utilizes a walker to remain mobile.
At some point when Sherer stepped back outside, the female was able to lock him out. He again attempted to get back in the residence but was unable to.
After the officers made contact with Sherer and were still present with him, he continued to call 911 reporting interlopers on his property. A total of seven false 911 calls were made to the communications center.
Sherer was placed under arrest and lodged in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
