Last year, Mark Beach took over the Marianna program, becoming the Bulldogs third head coach in four years. Beach, back for year number two this year, and they're looking to improve off last year's 2-8 mark. The Dawgs lost just eight seniors off last year's squad, with many skill players among the returner, and the Bulldogs offensive line is set to be their strength.
Beach said his guys have been hitting the weight room hard in the off season, but the biggest thing the team has worked on is establishing consistency and trust within the program.
"There's always the development of the relationships and the trust factors and all those things that come into play and the community wants to win, there's high expectations and that takes time," he said. "That's kind of where we're at. It's stressful and as coaches we try to push these guys and make things happen faster then they really do but there's a law of natural progression that's never going to change. We just have to be patient and let things happen."
Fans can catch their first look at the Dawgs in game action on May 23rd when they travel to Tallahassee to take on Rickards and FAMU High in their spring game.
