Residents in Walton County could soon see relief after heavy rains hit the area last week. Walton received more than more than 12 inches of rain in the storm on April 30th destroying roads and some homes in the southern part of the county.
A request was made Friday for Federal Individual Assistance for Okaloosa and Walton counties.
The individual assistance, if approved, will aid in recovery from the recent flooding. Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties have already been granted the assistance. Residents in declared counties can expect disaster recovery centers to open in their community following approval. The centers are temporary facilities located near impacted areas where residents can go to obtain disaster related information
