Third Person Charged in Attempted Robbery at Innovations Federal Credit Union
The Panama City Police Department announces the arrest of Michael Kenny Tew, 27 years of age, of Bay County, Florida. Tew is charged with principal to attempted robbery.
On April 17, 2014, Panama City Police officers responded to an attempted robbery that occurred at Innovations Federal Credit Union located at 625 Jenks Avenue. William Riley and Harold Easley were previously arrested for their involvement in this attempted robbery. Detectives learned that Tew transported Riley and Easley to the bank in his vehicle to commit this act.
On April 23, 2014, a warrant was issued for Tew’s arrest. On the evening of May 14, 2014, a Panama City Police officer observed a vehicle matching the description of Tew’s parked at a closed business in the 600 Blk of Luverne Ave. The officer observed Tew sleeping in his vehicle and took him into custody.
Tew was questioned by detectives before being transported to the Bay County Jail. Tew made a first-appearance before a local judge on May 15, 2014.
