Margaret K. Lewis Eagles Soar High and Receive Diplomas

Students at a Panama City exceptional school are soaring high as they walked the stage to receive their diplomas.

Margaret K. Lewis School held its graduation ceremony on Thursday morning where three of its Eagles’ determination has finally paid off.

It was a packed house to celebrate the students’ accomplishments. Those in attendance enjoyed a musical presentation from the MKL Academy as well as a few guest speakers.

This year’s graduates are Sara Barr, Aaron Brooks, and Ian Whitley.

Principal Lori Hast says the students have achieved an amazing goal in their lives.

“It’s like climbing Mt. Everest; it’s like earning an Olympic medal,” said Hast. “It really takes so much more effort on their part than you see from a typical peer because they have such unique needs and so we’re especially proud.”

Principal Hast says all three graduates will return to Margaret K. Lewis in the Fall to enter the Academy Program.
