The Panama City Rescue Mission is known for giving people a place to stay in time of need, but they also help residents who need a hand up once in a while. Friday, food and other items donated through the recent Mail Carriers Food Drive were given out to anyone who needed it. Nearly 50 families received food, toiletries, and other necessities.
The Long family came in to get help with a new baby, and say they are grateful for the help. “It feels good coming here and it make me happy to know that she is going to have dippers and food and things like that it's much easer to come here then to ask friends and family to give you food and diapers,” Dawn Long said. If you know some one that could benefit from this program head down to the rescue mission at 515 E. 6th street. The items are given out each Friday from 9 am to 4 pm throughout June.
