Roberts Hall in the Lynn Haven's historic downtown hosted an open mic showcase for local musicians Sunday. The historic building was host to four artists who showed off their golden pipes. The singing was not just to be heard but also to help raise money for the more than 100 year old building that has been through extensive renovations.
Event organizer Maggie McKinney hopes that events like this will help local artists with an outlet for their music but also to help a beloved building.
"I love the fact that we have been able to rest the building from people that wanted to tear it down or destroy it or tear it down or rebuild it into something else," said McKinney. "I love that and I also love the fact that we are doing it organically through music and that is what it was intended for.
"I just think it's a perfect fit."
If you missed Sunday’s concert they will be having another concert next Sunday at Robert's Hall.
