Police respond to a report of shots being fired at Kj's nightclub, 908 Martin Luther King Blvd., in Panama City around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Officers say the victim, a black male in his mid-twenties to late-twenties was found shot in parking lot. He was taken to the hospital to receive medical treatment for what police say is a life-threatening gunshot wound.

Authorities had the crime scene blocked off from the nightclub to the end of 10th Street.

Sergeant Jon Morris, with Panama City Police, says the events surrounding the shooting are still unclear, but he believes it started in the parking lot.

""We dont know if he was shot inside the vehicle or  outside the vehicle, and either fell back into the vehicle or maybe somebody was trying to take him to the hospital," he said. "We still don't know yet, we're still trying to figure that out."

There are no suspects in the case at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.

This is the fourth shooting in Panama City in a little over two weeks.
